Not sure what suddenly changed but the guy you know that spent the most time talking about free speech has been awful quiet about it lately.

I mean it just seems to random right? Years of having to hear about it and now seemingly unrelated to anything whatsoever he’s optimistic. Especially considering the people who were being “cancelled” before were randomly jerking off in front of people and touching teens.

Oh well. It’s gotta be a good thing! I mean how else are we supposed to fight against the dangers of hate speech against podcasters and, even more critically, black women in McDonalds commercials?

It brings to mind a comedian I saw a few months ago (I know his name but I’m not gonna say it) talking about how democrats used to be the cool party who encouraged people to do what the want but now it’s flipped and conservatives are the ones who are all about it. Because he’s definitely right. The right doesn’t cancel anyone or ban books or give people shit for their lifestyle. It’s super cool that normal fuckin people can lose their jobs over having opinions.

I guess the silver lining though is that we can drop the fuckin pretext of it ever having been about free speech though right? We can all just be honest now and say it wasn’t actually about people being able to say whatever they want and it was really just being able to say slurs and shit? Cool cool.
